Infrared sauna heaterby Admin

Message: I see you don't recommend infrared sauna heaters exposed in wet saunas.  But if the panel what if the panels were designed behind a glass panel that would negate the exposure to the humidity levels of the sauna, would the infrared heater be as effective?

No, it is not that you can't use them in a wet sauna, but you just don't want to be splashing water on them.       Dan

Dan, I thinking of designing them behind safety glass which would be a sealed environment that would prevent exposure to water and humidity. Cannot find any info which specifies if the units require air space.regards. PS. Where do you ship from?

As Dan said, as long as you don't splash water on them you can use them.  In our saunas which are wet sauna's we provide the IR heaters as a further option.  I don't like the idea if placing the IR panels behind glass.  Not sure how much of the IR radiation would make it through. Dieter

I would suggest there needs to be air flow to cool off the heating mat as there is a high limit switch at the back that would get tripped.  We ship from Winnipeg, MB.   Dan

How did u incorporate the panels into your wet saunas?

We hang them on the wall, and the main heater controls them as well.   Dan

So, the interior temperature of the wet sauna does not cause the units to shut down or is there a threshold on the safety switch?

No this is not an issue at the normal operating temperatures of a sauna.   Dan

Excellent, really appreciate your help and will be contacting you about the dimensions and if possible could I email a scan designed to show you what I want to do. Reason I want the Infrared incorporated into it, I have researched the health benefits of infrared light for people suffering from RA. My daughter has it and I have grown up on wet saunas. Part Fin, and every finlander has one and they can really take the heat. regards.
